Our Fees
Below is a good faith effort to capture moving permit fees. If you are confused, please call us for clarification.
Moving container fees (Pods, Door-to-Door and similar companies) are a little more complex, so please call or email us for details.
Fees are subject to change without notice.
| Boston, MA | The first day is $69 for 40 feet (about 2-3 parking spaces) with two signs. Each additional day is $11 more. For areas longer than 40 feet, the City charges additional (nominal) fees. Meters are an additional $20 per day per metered spot. Our fee is $55 for professional movers and $75 to the general public. For example, if you are not a moving company the typical fee for one day permit with two signs, without meters including everything is $144. Please note, the City increased their fee additional $30 on 4/4/11 and the fees above reflect that change. |
| Cambridge, MA | The City charges $25 per day for up to 50 feet. Parking meters are an additional $10 per meter head per day. Our fee is $55. |
| San Francisco, CA | San Francisco (the SFPD) charges $167 for a one-address move (1 to 4 signs). There is no addition fees for parking metered areas. Our fee is $55. TWO ADDRESS MOVE PRICING: Two-address move pricing is complicated as each police district has different pricing for two-address moves. The City fees for this ranges from $220 to $334 depending on the police districts involved. We will always try to obtain the best pricing you by hiring the cheapest SFPD district. We charge a $85 service fee on two-address moves. |
| Chicago, IL | The City charges $25 per day. Parking meters are an additional fee per meter head per day. The City only provides this additional meter cost upon application for the permit. Our fee is $55 for professional movers and $75 to the general public. |
| Minneapolis, MN | Currently, the City of Minneapolis is NOT charging a fee for one-day, without parking meters, parking permits to occupy about 40 feet of space. Our fee to make the arrangements is $55. That said, a typical all-inclusive fee is $55 for about 40 feet of space. Multi-day permits, permits involving meters or larger space will be more money. Meter fees can range from $5 to $28 per meter per day depending on the location of the meter. |
| Somerville, MA | The permit is $40 per day plus $5 per sign. A typical move involves two signs. Parking meters are an additional $5 per meter head per day plus a "bagging fee" of $10 (Monday through Thursday) or $20 (Friday through Sunday). Our fee is $80. |
| Brookline, MA | The Town charges $5 per sign. Depending on the move, two or more signs may be required. Parking meters are an additional $7.50 per meter head per day. Our fee is $80. |
| Washington, DC | The City charges $55 per permit for 44 feet of parking space (about 2-3 car lengths) - two-day maximum. For 88 feet of space the City charges an additional $55. If metered, it's an additional $24-48 (approx.) per meter per day. For containers, the City charges $55 for up to five days. Our service fee is $75. |
| Seattle, WA | The typical fee of $160 is for a two day, non-metered, 36 feet space (2 car lengths). Any deviation from a two day, non-metered fee for two spaces may result in a fee increase. In event that your spaces are metered, you will be responsible for the lost revenue fee. This fee varies from $20-$40 per meter per day. For a two-day, 36 ft of space permit, we will handle the meter hooding fee. Multi-day permits or larger spaces fees will be higher. Lead time of 72 hours for non-metered spaces and 24 hours for metered spaces. Unless specifically specified, we will provide parking for about 40 feet for 8am to 4pm. | Philadelphia, PA | The city charges $25 per day for a moving truck (for 40 feet of space) and $40 for containers (up to 5 days). Parking meters are an additional fee per meter head. The City will only provide this additional meter cost upon application for the permit. Our fee is $75. |
| Quincy, MA | The city charges $75 per day. Our fee is $80. |
| Beverly Hills, CA | The City charges $52.20 for a residential address is per day, plus $5 per sign for two signs. A Commercial address is $135.50 per day plus $5.10 per sign. Meters are additional fees. Our fee is $140. |
| West Hollywood, CA | West Hollywood charges about $20 per day. Metered parking areas are subject to additional fees. Our fee is $130. |
| Santa Monica, CA | The City fee is $35 for 3 signs. Our fee is $100. |
| Hoboken, NJ | Hoboken charges about $45 for 3 cardboard signs, good for one-day (up to eight hours). Our fee is $135. Our fee includes obtaining the permit/signs, posting the signs and verifying the sign posting with the City. |
| Providence, RI | The City charges $80 per day. CITY LATE FEE: $50 IF NOT RECEIVED 6 BUSINESS DAYS PRIOR TO MOVE DATE. Meters are an additional $12.50 per day per metered spot. Our fee is $100. |
| Berkeley, CA | Berkeley charges $40 plus $12 per sign. Two signs is the norm. We normally apply for a 50 foot area unless you specifically request a larger area. Our service fee is $100. That said, the normal all-inclusive fee for a one-day, 50 foot area (without parking meters) is $176. Metered areas cost more. |
| Los Angeles, CA | The City charges $52 for 40 feet of space. Our fee is $55 for professional movers and $75 to the general public. For example, if you are a moving company the typical fee for one day permit including everything is $107. If you are an individual, its $20 more. |
| Pasadena, CA | Flat-fee $150. The flat fee is for a one-address, one-day, non-metered permit includes the City fees and our service fee for about 40 feet of curb length. Parking meters, additional days and/or more space will cost more. |
| Alexandria, VA | $20 per non-metered space per day. Metered parking spaces $30 per day. The all-inclusive fee for a typical one-day, permit (about 40 feet, without meters) is $115, this includes the City fee ($40) and our service fee ($75). |
| Arlington County, VA | For non-metered parking areas $34.00 per 44 foot with a time limit of up to 2 days. In metered area please add an additional $15.00 per day for each parking meter with a time limit of 4 hours or less or $11.00 per day for each parking meter with a time limit of more than 4 hours. The typically all-inclusive fees for a one-day permit (w/o meters) with us posting the signs is $109, this includes the County fee ($34) and our service fee ($75). |
| Baltimore, MD | The City charges $65 per permit. Our service fee is $80. |
| Oakland, CA | The City of Oakland charges $121.26 for a one-day, 50 foot area without parking meters. Our fee is an additional $100. Larger spaces, parking meters, cases where street closures are necessary (e.g. no sidewalk present, narrow or winding roadway, obstructions) or multiple days fees are higher - call us for solid pricing. |
| Irvine, CA | Irvine does not charge a fee for permits (free!). Our service fee to arrange is $100 |
| Portland, OR |
Our service fee is $95. The City permit fees and regulations in Portland are confusing. Depending on the permit address, the City has three different pricing schemes. (1) Metered-areas are priced at $50 per metered space (20 feet) per day. (2) Non-metered permit address located in a congested area (this is determined by the City upon our application) are prices at $7.50 per space per day plus a flat fee of $32.50. (3) Permits in non-congested, non-metered area are $40 per day up to 80 feet.
IMPORTANT: Permits are only enforceable (this means you can call the Portland Parking Enforcement to get vehicles parked in your permit area towed away as needed) the under the following circumstances. (1) Metered permits are fully enforceable under all circumstances. (2) In all non-metered areas, the signs we post at the permit address must be inspected by Parking Enforcement at least 24 hours in advance of the start date. Permit Puller charges an additional $100 for this inspection at is is very time consuming as our staff must be present during the inspection. If you wish to have a fully enforceable permit please note this on your request otherwise we will not take this extra step w/o your prior authorization. |
| Annapolis, MD | The all-inclusive fees for a one-day permit with us posting the signs is $160, this includes the city fee ($60) and our service fee ($100). |
| Nantucket, MA | $75 per hour. Nantucket issues permits granting permission to obstruct a street/sidewalk for a specific date and time. The application must be approved by the Police Dept, Fire Dept, Public Works Dept and the Town Administrator. The process requires us to physically walk the application into each town dept for signature. It typically takes about 2-3 hours to process the application. |
| St Paul, MN | $12-$24 for 40 feet of space per day, depending if the address is downtown or on a residential street. Areas that involve parking meters or spaces larger than 40 feet cost more. Our fee is $90. That said, the typical all-inclusive fee for a one-day permit (without meters) for 40 feet of space is either $102 or $14 in total. |
| San Mateo, CA | San Mateo charges about $10 for a one-day, 50 foot area without parking meters. Our fee is an additional $100. Larger spaces, parking meters or multiple days fees are higher - call us for more solid pricing. |
| Palo Alto, CA | Palo Alto does not charge for their permits in most circumstances. If there are parking meters or two-hour parking in the spots you wish to occupy then the City charges $15 per parking space per day. Our fee to arrange and post signs is $100. |
| Burlingame, CA | Burlingame charges a base fee of $135 plus $10 per parking space, per day. Our fee is an additional $100. |
| Pittsburgh, PA | WE ARE CURRENTLY TESTING SERVICE IN PITTSBURGH. The City of Pittsburgh permit fees are still unclear to us. The City seems to have different fees based on the permit address. Call us for a rough estimate. Our service fee to arrange the permit is $100. |
| Madison, WI | The all-inclusive fees for a one-day moving truck permit (w/o meters) with us posting the signs is $106, this includes the City of Madison fees ($6) and our service fee ($100). Moving container fees are completely different, call us for better moving container pricing. |
| San Jose, CA | In San Jose, a one-day, non-metered moving permit for up to 80 feet is $30. Larger spaces, parking meters or multiple days fees are higher. Our service fee is $100. While we do post the "no parking" signs at the permit address, the resident is technically required to visit the Traffic Dept to get visitor placard themselves, as the City will not provide us this document. |
| Alameda, CA | Alameda City Fees: Non-Metered Areas: ($3.62 per 20 foot space) x (# of days). Metered Areas: ($4.56 per 20 foot space) x (# of days). Permit Puller Fee: $100. |
| South Pasadena, CA | Permit Puller Fee: $100. No city fee ($0 South Pasadena fee). The S.D. Department of Public Works allows the posting courtesy signs. These signs are unenforceable for towing but will indicate "No Parking" and reserve space for your move. |
| Manhattan Beach, CA | City Fees: $25 Permit Fee per 40 feet of space. $5 per sign, 2 sign minimum. Lead Time: 5 days. That said, the typical all-inclusive fee for a one-day permit (without meters) for 40 feet of space is $35. Please note that in Manhattan Beach, we actually post the signs. |

Can possibly be done with 72 hours notice to the City -- but no guarantee! That said, the typical all-inclusive fee for a one-day permit (without meters) for 40 feet of space is $75. Please note that in Long Beach, the City posts the signs. |
| St. Louis, MO | St. Louis Fees & Details Permit Puller Fee: $100 City Fees: $20 for 40 feet of space per day. Lead Time: 5 days. That said, the typical all-inclusive fee for a one-day permit (without meters) for 40 feet of space is $120. St. Louis is currently in a TRIAL phase. We are uncertain about the efficiency of the City's policies, procedures and employees. As such, we recommend advance notice for St. Louis moves (do not wait until the deadline for lead time) and flexibility in pricing, in case fees are forced to be changed. |
| Sacramento, CA | Sacramento Fees & Details Permit Puller Fee: $100 City Fees: In metered spaces, the City requires at least 10 days notice in order to avoid an "expedited service fee" of $175. The permit fee is $50 + $11 per metered space. In non-metered spaces, the City fee is $60 for the permit. Lead Time: In metered spaces: 10 days. (4 days if paying an expedited service fee to the City of Sacramento). In non-metered spaces: 4 days. That said, the typical all-inclusive fee for a one-day metered permit is $172 if given 10+ days notice. The typical all-inclusive fee if given less than 10 days notice is $352. Sacramento is currently in a TRIAL phase. We are uncertain about the efficiency of the City's policies, procedures and employees. As such, we recommend advance notice for Sacramento moves (do not wait until the deadline for lead time) and flexibility in pricing, in case fees are forced to be changed. |
| New Orleans, LA | New Orleans Fees & Details Permit Puller Fee: $100 City Fees: In non-metered spaces, the City fee is $192 for the permit for up to 7 days and 2 trucks. In metered spaces, the ideal lead time is 5 days, but we (on a trial basis) may be able to secure these with 3 days notice. The permit fee for metered spaces is $65 per meter per day in most areas within the City. In the Central Business District (Downtown) the rate is $75 per meter per day. On Canal Street and in the French Quarter (where there is less space available for parking), the rate is $85 per meter per day Lead Time: In metered spaces: 3 days. In non-metered spaces: 3-5 days. New Orleans is currently in a TRIAL phase. We are uncertain about the efficiency of the City's policies, procedures and employees. As such, we recommend advance notice for New Orleans moves (do not wait until the deadline for lead time) and flexibility in pricing, in case fees are forced to be changed. |

| Bellevue, WA | Bellevue City Fees & Details Permit Puller Fee: $144 City Fees: NONE. This is an unenforceable (for towing) barricade service. Courtesy barricades! Lead Time: about 7 days. Permit Time: 8AM to 5PM unless otherwise indicated by applicant. MOVES: Unless specifically specified, we will provide parking for about 40 feet (barricaded) for 8am to 5pm. If you are an individual who is arranging a permit for a professional mover you've hired, please provide the name of the moving company in the "Special Requirements" field. If you provide us your movers fax # or email address we will be happy to send them your permit as well. NOTE: This city is currently in a TRIAL phase as we establish procedures for processing these requests more efficiently. |
